welcome to mayfield: day 2

[Day two of whatever this place is dawns bright and cheerful. Not much seems to have changed; the carnival is still standing, the town still empty of drones, the sky still bright blue and --
-- hang on, what was that? Did some sort of crack just appear in that patch of sky?
...oh, it's gone now. Must have just been your imagination. Anyway, there's no time to waste staring aimlessly at the sky, not when there's more friends showing up! Lucky there's more than enough food to go around, eh?]
OOC: If your character damages or affects the carnival or town in a noticeable and normally permanent way, please comment here.
OPEN! If your character was on the list of characters arriving on Day 1 or Day 2, they may comment here. All questions belong here.

I-I'll be fine.
[ When she finishes Hol's bandage she starts bandaging her own right eye. ]
Hol said got attacked by a clown that could throw knives.

[She gave a quick look around, spinning herself about to get a full surveying of the situation. No. No clowns, not that she could see.]
...and it got him in the eyes, did it? And what about you?
[Her tone is cold and hard. With maybe, maybe a hint of concern on the very last syllable.]

It's all right, Natalie's okay, Hol. Don't get up just yet.
[ Finishing up her bandage, she turns to face Natalie. There's smudges of blood on her cheeks that she missed during her bandaging, and there's a lot of bruising. Her left eye is bloodshot. her voice is steadier now. ]
Had to stop the bleeding, and do what I could to heal the damage.
[ Ilsa is putting away her first aid kit in her tote bag. ]
no subject
...could've just... stopped th' bleedin'...
[He clenched his jaw again, apparently he should just stay still for now.]

[Now she sounded cold and sad. She casts another look around, watching not just for killer clowns but those damned rats. Not good. None of this was good.]
You're both wounded, and you shouldn't be out here. There are rats. They're not pleasant. Can either of you walk on your own? Or with help? We should leave the fairgrounds and go somewhere else. There are houses.
[It's directed at both of them, but her gaze is always upon Ilsa. She healed by taking the pain on herself, was that it? Hardly the best thing for either of them.]
...did you take his pain into yourself, Ilsa? Can you give pain to someone?
no subject
[ Ilsa carefully gets up, and offers her hand to Hol. ]
Don't worry, it's easier to heal this way. Just need to rest a while, and I'll be okay to take a watch later tonight.
[ If it weren't for the fresh blood, it looks like both she and Hol were in a fight a day or two ago. ]
no subject
[He was... very wary at this point. He had a good enough reason.]
no subject
My name is Natalie. I'm a friend of Ilsa's.
[And then her head turns, directing her words back at Ilsa.]
..you're not taking a watch. There's no need for you to take a watch. I'll be up all night.. and then, hopefully, I'll be left alone to sleep it off during the day.
no subject
Okay, this time.
[ Yes, there will probably be a next time. ]
I haven't seen the rats, yet. Is there a place secure from them?
no subject
[That's all he had to say on the issue.]
no subject
[And... where to go? She hesitates, before offering her suggestion.]
The church. The rats seem to avoid the church. There's a... woman there. Powerful. It would be safe.
no subject
Let's go, then.
[ Not going to mention it in front of Hol, that would be rude. ]
no subject
... what woman?
no subject
...blue hair. Holy powers. If she has a name, I've forgotten it.
Let's get going, for both your sakes.
no subject
[ Ilsa is not accustomed to Natalie's touch, but it's not as much of a shock to her as it would be to others. ]
no subject
[Nope. He's not moving.]
no subject
She's only dangerous if you're EVIL. You're not evil, are you, sir?
no subject
[ She's not sure how reassuring a side-hug would be for him right now, but it's accompanied by a feeling of reassurance. ]
We'll be fine.
no subject
... then why did you mention she was dangerous...?
no subject
[Yup, there we go, moving right along...]
no subject
[ Moving the party along, even at the speed they're moving, it doesn't take them long to get out of the carnival and within line-of-sight to the church. ]
Long as you don't break the rules of sanctuary, you ought to be okay.
[ Ilsa's still worried about Natalie. ]
no subject
[He's not so sure about heading to the church now... but he doesn't have much of a choice.]
no subject
[Ones that Natalie does not sound entirely enthused about. Thank goodness that it's not a long walk to the church...
Though when they're at the front steps, Natalie breaks away, grimacing slightly.]
And this is as far as I go.
