day 5

[The fifth day doesn't dawn at all. In fact, the sky simply isn't there anymore; the only thing visible if you look up is pure black nothing. Most of the carnival itself is no longer visible, having been blanketed by thick white fog; any attempt to enter said fog will result in your body rapidly disintegrating. The street at least still seems to be intact, but with no way out and the fog slowly creeping in, who knows how long that'll last?

Luckily, it seems like the cavalry has finally arrived.]

(OOC: This marks the last day of the event! Anyone who has won a prize from Mayfield's carnival will be able to access both Mayfield and this area through the funhouse, and will be able to take one person with them on each trip they make. If your character is not rescued by the end of the day, they will be disintegrated by the fog and will wake up the next morning in Mayfield with the standard revival effects. You are free to comment in this post regardless of whether your character signed up for the event.)

[Between his makeshift cane and Lucas helping him, Latvia has no trouble getting onto the table, save for his nerves]

[Lucas will push off the moment he thinks Latvia is seated securely. The table doesn't actually require too much of his input to progress, so he'll turn around onto a bit.]

What happened? Were you hit while you were here?

N-not hit, more like pulled.

[He doesn't look up, he just clings to the table as if his life depended on it.

[This is enough helping and even this is a bit overwhelming for him]

[Latvia doesn't say much, he just whimpers and grips onto the table tighter. Occasionally he chances a glance back to the rest of the carnival]

Of course. I'm not going to stop until I'm sure everyone's safely back in Mayfield. I don't know why, but it doesn't seem like everyone can get through themselves...

[He's actually not too sure what to say. Latvia usually had the policy of introducing himself by a human name to non-nations but he wasn't sure if Lithuania was the same]

H-his name is Tolys, sometimes he answers to Lithuania.

[Latvia practically slipped off the table, only managing to grab hold at the last second to stop himself falling off]

Y-yes, that's right.

[Even though it was happening more and more, it always felt weird to have strangers aware of their existence]

Oh, sorry! Is it really surprising? I've met... at least fifteen of them in all my time in Mayfield.

[Even Latvia was pretty sure he hadn't met fifteen here]

W-well, yeah I guess if you come across them that much... I didn't realise there were so many.

Well... I think most of them are gone now. I've been here a little too long.

[And rounding one last corner, they come in sight of the funhouse. Lucas will burst through the doors without hesitation.]

It's just through here. Hang in there a little longer.

[Latvia flinched a little as they burst through the doors. It felt like he was learning new bits of this place's history every time he spoke to someone]

W-wait, are you sure?

[As far as he'd heard, it had been a one way system]

I've brought a lot of people through already. I don't know why, but it doesn't seem like most people can find the way...

[He's not sure he could piece together any kind of explanation but it wouldn't be the strangest thing that happened]

[And though Latvia couldn't see it, the wormhole in front of them quickly swallows them all before spitting them out in the carnival on Mayfield's end.]

[Squeezing his eyes shut he holds on tightly as instructed. There's a slight pang of nausea as they break through, the air seems different somehow... Chancing a peek Latvia finds them in somewhat familiar surroundings]

D-did it work?

[Lucas will glance around as well. ........No! The portal hadn't taken them back to Mayfield! They were trapped in.. Cornfield!!!! Wait no it was just the creepy carnival on the other side. Phew. Lucas will nudge the table to a halt and hop off to help Latvia.]

I think so! You should be safe now.

[There's a clear sigh of relief as he's helped off the table and even though his legs are shaking he does his best to stand up straight]
