day 5

[The fifth day doesn't dawn at all. In fact, the sky simply isn't there anymore; the only thing visible if you look up is pure black nothing. Most of the carnival itself is no longer visible, having been blanketed by thick white fog; any attempt to enter said fog will result in your body rapidly disintegrating. The street at least still seems to be intact, but with no way out and the fog slowly creeping in, who knows how long that'll last?
Luckily, it seems like the cavalry has finally arrived.]
(OOC: This marks the last day of the event! Anyone who has won a prize from Mayfield's carnival will be able to access both Mayfield and this area through the funhouse, and will be able to take one person with them on each trip they make. If your character is not rescued by the end of the day, they will be disintegrated by the fog and will wake up the next morning in Mayfield with the standard revival effects. You are free to comment in this post regardless of whether your character signed up for the event.)

[Lucas will glance back and blink a little at the ridiculously long trail of hair streaming behind them.]
Are you OK, miss? Have you been hurt?
no subject
I'm okay, actually! [She truly can't believe her luck.] Especially now!
no subject
Aha... It's alright! You don't have to thank me! I just hope everyone can get out before it all collapses.
I meant more if you'd been hurt or anything.
no subject
Oh! Oh, no, actually... I've been taking care of myself!

But once we make it through, you have to go back for Once-ler.
[Normally, she would never ask that of a boy. But he has healing, he's brave... And she's terrified for her housemate.]
If you can. Please.
no subject
Of course. I'm not going to go back to Mayfield until everyone's back safely.
...Mr. Once-ler is a friend of yours? I just met him a few days ago here.
no subject
Yes, he is. We live in the same house... I need to know he'll be okay.
no subject
I'll be sure to keep an eye out.
no subject
He has to tell me about kiwis...
no subject
Ah, I think those are a kind of fruit.
[Lucas misses the point a little, but they're pulling up in front of the funhouse now. He'll squeeze the table through the doors.]

[It's said distantly, and it's not until a moment later that she realizes how mad she must sound. She chuckles awkwardly.]
Sorry, I'm just... It's been so long.
no subject
[Lucas nods in understanding. It's been very exhausting trying to survive on just the cookies and things he's brought with him. ...Although he sounds a little bit mad, too.]
You should eat a lot when you get back. I'm looking forward to it, too. ...Ah, it's right ahead, miss. Let me know if you can see the hole; no one else has been able to so far.
[He points to the black rift through the hall of mirrors which is quite evident to his eyes.]
no subject
[She makes an appreciative sound at the thought of food.]
Yes, that sounds perfect. But... I don't see anything. I'm sorry.
no subject
[He doesn't seem too surprised that she can't see it. The table doesn't slow down as it continues to approach.]
I'm not sure why, but I think it has something to do with bringing something here from the carnival there.
no subject
You know? For once, I don't need to know.
no subject
Hold on, miss. We're here.
[And through the rift they plunge. The sensation is a bit odd, but Lucas is used to it now.]
no subject
...Thank you.
no subject
You should get some rest, miss! Don't worry; I won't come back until I find Mr. Once-ler.
[or his body]
no subject
Thank you so much. Again. For everything.
no subject
[Lucas will flush rather red at the hug before he scrambles back onto the table and retreats back with a wave.]
I'll see you again in a bit!
