[Those who wake up in the town on the third day will soon notice that something's definitely off. The cracks in the sky are appearing more frequently and lasting for minutes at a time, and there's a strange white fog drifting over the clouds.

For those who've just arrived, welcome to our new little town! We're sure you're glad to see your missing friends again; nothing to worry about here, they've just been too busy enjoying the upgraded carnival to go back home. Any bleeding limbs or serious wounds you may spot are obviously just a sign of how much fun they've been having.]

[Just then, she almost pitches over onto Hakuno]

Whoa! [She manages to catch the woman before she totally falls forward. Moving over a bit, she gently pulls at Bazett, trying to help her up onto the pew so she can rest easier.]

Yeah, I'm fine! You need to rest more than I do right now.

[Bazett more or less collapses into the pew.]

It...is the water. The water...makes you sick...if you drink too much.

[Hakuno hasn't been feeling at her best, considering all there is to consume is water and rat meat.] Geez... don't you boil it? That's supposed to help a lot.

I reinforced it. I thought that would be enough to remove the toxins.

[Reinforcement focused on a concept and not necessarily an object. Water, reinforced to becoming a "drink", should be been non-toxic.]

But...maybe I should try boiling it from now on.

[Hakuno doesn't really know the different kinds of magic that normal magi know, so she's not sure what reinforcement means. Whatever it is, it didn't work.]

You should. The houses have working stoves, so you can do it there, if you need to.

[Which might be soon, given her labored breathing.]

Well then, those of us who have been around for a few days now will have to look after them, right? [Right!] But you should stay here. At this rate you'll probably pass out in the middle of the road.

N-no...I...can still walk. I need...to see...if my allies are there.

[She tries to get up, but ends up sitting back down.]

You won't be very useful to your allies if you can barely stand, will you? Really, it will be better to stay here until you're feeling better.

[She gives a weak nod. She definitely needs her rest for now.]

Then...let me give you something.

[She brings a finger up to her mouth and bites it hard enough to make it bleed.]

Eh?! [No really. What!?] W-What are you doing?

Runes. I can...carve runes on your jacket that ressurects and regenerates you after you...receive fatal wounds. It can only be used once...but as long as no organs are removed, you will completely be regenerated. It...just drains some prana.

Oh... [Still, she looks a little uncertain at that.]

Will this put a big strain on you?

No...I will be fine.

[Technically, that is not a lie, since she had never tried to use her resucitation runes when she was sick. Therefore, she could not say for sure if it would be a big strain.]

[Again, it's not really comforting. But she can't just turn down help like this, can she.]

... Alright. [And she turns.]

[She does her best to hold her hands steady as she traces the runes on Hakuno's back.]

Be careful. Do not lose your clothes.

[If she did, then the spell would no longer work.]

And it works...only once.
