[Those who wake up in the town on the third day will soon notice that something's definitely off. The cracks in the sky are appearing more frequently and lasting for minutes at a time, and there's a strange white fog drifting over the clouds.

For those who've just arrived, welcome to our new little town! We're sure you're glad to see your missing friends again; nothing to worry about here, they've just been too busy enjoying the upgraded carnival to go back home. Any bleeding limbs or serious wounds you may spot are obviously just a sign of how much fun they've been having.]

[Kariya wakes up in the morning only to roll over and discover that the bag of jewels and stuffed animals he'd taken from the prize stalls on the first day is missing. Grumbling to himself, he gets up and starts pacing around searching for it. He's full enough on filtered rat blood and rat meat that he can safely treat souvenirs for Rin and Sakura as his first priority, at least for the moment.]

[April had started to use the church as a place to rest after she went wandering around during most of the night, since the rats tended to stay away from it. So when she walks in after spending most the the night exploring, she blinks over at Kariya pacing around.]

... What's wrong, Kariya?

The bag I was carrying yesterday... it's gone.

Gone? [She frowns and she walks further in, glancing around.] Do you think someone might have moved it while you were asleep?

Maybe. But I guess there are more important things to worry about.

... What was in your bag?

Jewels and stuffed animals from the game stand. I was planning to bring them back for Rin and Sakura.

I see... [She hums to herself, before giving a quick stretch and starts to look around for it too.]

[After a bit longer...]

It's no good. It's gone.

What...are you looking for?

[Bazett definitely looks like she has seen better days. In addition to the fevered blush spreading over her face, there is blood running down both her legs, corresponding with the strange holes in her pants.]

I don't know. I didn't see it happen.

Just be glad...you are uninjured. Whatever...took the prizes...in my pockets...also injured me.

[And it had done it fast enough to get away by the time she woke up.

You should really bandage that up, Bazett. You're going to lose too much blood.

[She shakes her head.]

I have already closed the wound. I have just not washed it yet.

[ A huge, armored figure crawls over to Kariya, rumbling greeting. ]

Looks like you are still healthy. Thank the Emperor for that, I suppose. [ His left leg hangs limp in the armor, though there is no scratch on it. ]

More than I can say for you. What happened?

Visited a very dangerous house. Lost a leg. It was a boring story anyway.

The entire leg? How are you even still walking around?

I'm not. I'm crawling. Or limping on a chainsword. [ He gestures towards the trail of crushed wood and scuff marks he left as he dragged himself to the church. ]

I hope you're planning to recover for a while before you go out again like that.

The leg won't grow back, and without a cybernetic, I have little choice. My blood has already stopped flowing. I'm fit for war, though slowed and less effective in close quarters than I'd like. I still have my bolter, though.
