welcome to mayfield: day 3

[Those who wake up in the town on the third day will soon notice that something's definitely off. The cracks in the sky are appearing more frequently and lasting for minutes at a time, and there's a strange white fog drifting over the clouds.
For those who've just arrived, welcome to our new little town! We're sure you're glad to see your missing friends again; nothing to worry about here, they've just been too busy enjoying the upgraded carnival to go back home. Any bleeding limbs or serious wounds you may spot are obviously just a sign of how much fun they've been having.]
OOC: If your character damages or affects the carnival or town in a noticeable and normally permanent way, please comment here.

but that's pretty logical and he can't really argue with it, so he just wrinkles his nose, looking frustrated.] Fair enough. Do you intend to stay here very long?

She'll get on writing again, though her hand will take a brief pause before going back to finishing the message.
I'm not sure, it'll depend. Why do you ask?
Almost put 'do you have any plans', but he might not tell her, so hmm...]
no subject
the pause earns her a curious look, but the message seems innocuous enough. she totally guessed correctly on assuming he'd leave her out of his plans...]
For the sake of curiosity. The church seems to be a point of congregation for those suffering from injuries, hunger or sleep deprivation, but I suppose you're trusting Abel to watch over for the time being.

tapping her pen idly on the notepad twice, she'll get on writing again, more time needed because she's got more to write.
I can do something about the injured and sleep-deprived. People have begun hunting the rats down for their meat and consuming that with no averse results so far. I suppose I could help with that later at night, we'll have to see. One can rest and recover at their pace in the Church, but one bite on the food here can cause immediate death. Unless you have a better idea for what might serve as a clearer warning to stay away, I'll remain here for the time being.
As for that derp priest... yes and no? Either way, it won't take her more than a few minutes to get to the church from here, so she's not too worried.]

Clearer warning? If you wanted to go for something truly noticeable, a contained fire might do the trick. However, I wouldn't be surprised if the food continued appearing regardless, and then we might have idiots attempting to reach in anyway and you would have to deal with burnt and hungry people instead of just irritated and hungry people. [buuut that definitely doesn't mean he wouldn't go ahead anyway. he may or may not just want the satisfaction of winning against an inanimate object...]

[She looks thoughtful at that. In fact, she'll literally rest her chin in a hand as she mulls that over.
one sec writing...
Destroying the stand altogether may still be worth an attempt. It may not stop the hungry, but the sight may bring sense to some, hopefully.
You got her eyeing the stand speculatively now, oops... SHOULD SHE...]

Are you going to do so? It would be more effective than a sign and longer lasting than you standing watch. [he can't decide whether to feel pleased about the idea or not... he's got personal beef with this food stand okay, but meticulously trashing it by hand isn't anywhere near as effective as just setting it on fire or blowing it up or tossing it into the water in the tunnel of love...]

The food's mysterious apparition set aside, I certainly have the power to reduce this entire stand to ashes, provided that our current setting would actually allow me to. Very well, I suppose.
She'll stand by him long enough to make sure he's read the note. Once he's done, she'll fold it up and tuck it back away into her sleeve, and after giving a small sigh, walks back up to the stand so that she's half a dozen feet or so away from it.
Gonna give Charles one final glance over her shoulder, though: it's a warning one, and the message is clear. 'You may want to stay back for this'. Just a thought.]

he won't be stepping far enough away to give up a front row seat to whatever is going to happen, though. color him curious! it's always nice seeing what other people are capable of when they're not... using it against you....]
no subject
to be fair she never tried nuking him. Threw swords and used some magic as support, but mostly melee'd the daylights out of him because that's what she prefers!!
...but no okay, yeah sure why not. With Charles warned, she'll extend her left hand forward while pulling her right arm back, as if drawing an invisible bow. A faint white magic circle is drawing itself out and expanding by her feet, and even if she can't speak due to the lack of a tongue, her lips are moving. ...Not that he can see, but given that what she's trying to do doesn't rely on pronunciation, having the words in mind and shaping them out is enough.
What results is the forming of a long white beam of crackling energy laying above her left arm: talk about a souped up magical arrow. That thing she's still charging definitely has enough firepower to normally lay waste to an entire house, so--
--The spell complete, her right arm lets go. The bolt is send flying, straight into the food stand as a whole.]
no subject
anyway yep just gonna stand here watching in silence as she summons a weapon he hasn't seen before from her crazypants weapons arsenal, looking impressed despite himself. for someone unused to dealing with energy or magic or any of that, these things will never get old!
in fact, he might just suggest they go toast something else once she's done here...]
no subject
after the dusts settle, we'll just have ciel with her arms crossed and sighing. ...Oh, it... sort of.. worked? It's rubble now, but...
charles no...]

I suppose we'll have to wait and see if the food returns in the morning, but I'd say that's a good start.
and then i lost a tag... u_u
warily eyeing him now that she realized how happy he looks...
So she'll just dust her hand some more and slump her shoulders in an exaggerated manner. Gonna wave a hand dismissively too, WHATEVER... you can leave now babby bat, NOTHING ELSE TO SEE HERE!!]
it is easy to lose things in the event sea...
Well, I'll be heading back to the church for the time being, then. Let me know if you need any further aid. [by which he means let him know if there's gonna be any more stuff violently broken, because he wants in... it's cathartic okay!!
but yep just gonna wave and skedaddle on outta here]
i don't want to drown... ;_;
She'll continue to stare at him and just nod at his announcement. No need to write anything; he knows she's not gonna go trigger happy with her magic, and she understood him just now.
Waving... back... Goodbye and see you later too, Charles. DON'T GET YOURSELF KILLED ETC, can't say it but she's thinking it. Totes standard Mayfield farewells, okay.]
