[Day two of whatever this place is dawns bright and cheerful. Not much seems to have changed; the carnival is still standing, the town still empty of drones, the sky still bright blue and --

-- hang on, what was that? Did some sort of crack just appear in that patch of sky?

...oh, it's gone now. Must have just been your imagination. Anyway, there's no time to waste staring aimlessly at the sky, not when there's more friends showing up! Lucky there's more than enough food to go around, eh?]

[ Deadpan: ] They had it coming.

In all honesty, I wanted to be sure my magic still worked.

[ He quirks a brow ] What do you mean I'm late?

[hawkeward]

Well, it definitely works. Assuming that's what it's supposed to do, anyway.

[Pause.] I was looking for you yesterday. Or did I just miss you?

[spellbent]

No, no. It's working. Whether or not it'll work on anything else around here remains to be seen.

[ Well, now he just looks plain confused ] What are you talking about? I followed you out of the fun house.

[hawkeward]

Only one way to find out, hm?

...Did you? I didn't see you when I made it outside, but I figured you took a wrong turn. Or you were avoiding the big bad templar lady, perhaps. [She wrinkles her nose, frowning.] Interesting.

[spellbent]

Whatever happened, I don't suppose you found anything out while I wasn't here?

[hawkeward]

Not a whole lot. The town's a lot smaller; just the carnival and a couple houses. No drones, either. And the food and water aren't much good, so we may starve before we get out of here.

The fun never ends!

Aren't much good in what way?

[hawkeward]

The food isn't satisfying at all - you can eat all you want, but you'll still be hungry. Which would be nice if I were out to lose some weight, but... [sigh] And the water is... brown. Tastes kind of funny. I wouldn't trust it.

Ah, yes. I could see how that would be a problem.
