welcome to mayfield: day 2

[Day two of whatever this place is dawns bright and cheerful. Not much seems to have changed; the carnival is still standing, the town still empty of drones, the sky still bright blue and --
-- hang on, what was that? Did some sort of crack just appear in that patch of sky?
...oh, it's gone now. Must have just been your imagination. Anyway, there's no time to waste staring aimlessly at the sky, not when there's more friends showing up! Lucky there's more than enough food to go around, eh?]
OOC: If your character damages or affects the carnival or town in a noticeable and normally permanent way, please comment here.
OPEN! If your character was on the list of characters arriving on Day 1 or Day 2, they may comment here. All questions belong here.

And if neither works...
Well, let's start by trying to see if she can stay alive.]

Her tongue, however, is not restored.]

Taking in quietly a deep breath, she's going for a pen and a notepad. Better her than someone who can't recover; Archer needs to know about this and make aware anyone else here in the vicinity. So after a bit more of fumbling and her jotting down notes, she'll tear the page off with the following note:
The food is lethal, as expected. I can't speak anymore, but please round up anyone else you can find here and let them know immediately to not consume at any cost.
Archer? She may squeeze in a witty remark under lesser circumstances, but now's not a good time to kid around.]

Got it. I'll stick around, warn everyone I meet.....if I have to leave, I'll put up a sign or something. [A pause, then he puts a hand to his temple as if struck by something. Jesus fucking Christ.] ...might as well do that now, actually. Mind if I borrow your pen?

His request is met with a mildly inquisitive gaze. Now that she can't talk, she's going to need her pen more than ever, but if he makes it short...
With a bit of hesitation, she hands it to him. A word of 'I'll give back ASAP' will be nice, Archer...]

[He flashes a grin, one that can so often be confused with a sneer, and glances around for something to write on. There are posters scattered around advertising the various other attractions of the carnival - they'll do. He peels two of them off of nearby booths; carefully, so as not to tear them. The backs are an unsullied white, as he had hoped, and he's quick to write "DO NOT EAT: LETHAL" in big block letters across both posters.
Satisfied, he rolls them up and goes to hand the pen back to Ciel.]
It's better than nothing.

Now if you'll excuse her...
At least you know. Do you have any other plans, now?
[let's just move on as if nothing's happened, hmm?]
no subject
Nope. [Archer glances away, unwilling to be honest. But there's something about Ciel's state that tugs at him - bothers him, so he fesses up after a moment.] Eh...maybe scout around for familiar faces. This place is one big trap for those idiots.

Nodding, she'll write the following:
That'd be wise. It'll be troublesome to explain my predicament to my acquaintances, but I'm perfectly okay otherwise, I can't stand still. I'll do another round and then head back to the church. You can meet me there later, if you wish?
no sense panicking just cause she lost her tongue, right. It's still business as usual, business as usual.]
no subject
Sounds like a plan. [He shifts his weight a little; Archer feels restless, has to fight off the sensation of being cornered.] And I might swing by there later, but don't wait around for me. There's no telling how things might unravel in this place, or what I might be caught up doing.
[If they do meet up, that's all well and good, but if he's a no show, just keep on trucking.]
no subject
She nods. No, she's not going to wait for him, she's no plans to, but there's no need to write details like that out when they're already pressed like this. And so, the next line is a quick and simple one:
Okay. Be careful then, and please take care.
She'll give one last glance at the food stand, her eyes neutral for all they're worth, before pulling back her notepad and taking a step away. ...If that's all, she won't linger any more.]
