[Those who wake up in the town on the third day will soon notice that something's definitely off. The cracks in the sky are appearing more frequently and lasting for minutes at a time, and there's a strange white fog drifting over the clouds.

For those who've just arrived, welcome to our new little town! We're sure you're glad to see your missing friends again; nothing to worry about here, they've just been too busy enjoying the upgraded carnival to go back home. Any bleeding limbs or serious wounds you may spot are obviously just a sign of how much fun they've been having.]

[ Loken pats her hands in a gesture of gratefulness, aware of her involuntary silence, and sharing it for a moment as a show of solidarity. He closes his own eyes a moment later, seemingly finally taking rest. This should give her some idea of just how beaten down he must be. He can go, and has gone a full week without sleep or replenishment pursuing Merem, when he was causing havoc. Healing the leg wound as much as he did, surviving it, was a significant shock to his system.]

I believe several have tried. We've got clever ones in here. But they're not working with much material. The houses aren't furnished.

I'm hesitant to take my chances with the front porch. For the purpose of these things, porches generally count as part of a metaphysical structure...

...You may want to spend the night at the church, if you plan on sleeping. I may plan to be awake, but I can only hit so many rats at a time. The church seems to be warded against them.

[A tiny hiss, and she stretches her arm out. Her fingers flex, she twists her wrist about, and seems satisfied. All better. All healed. And it only took about half of the vitae in her system...

I wouldn't really call it strange. Even though women are able to do far more back home than they are in this place, men still hold most the power, and letting emotions and feeling take over is not the way for a woman to advance in the military.

Though, I will agree that you're right about it being better than having to be worked on by a field surgeon.

Simplistic, but I won't question it if it works. I can't say humans aren't like that; they just feel the need to glorify their actions to differentiate themselves from other species.

[Flandre limps a little bit, whenever the cut on her shin twinges and reminds her that it exists, but she still stays clinging to her sister's arm.

When you've been in as many as I have, some become more memorable than others.

[He generally doesn't laugh all that much, but he does smile, and it's a genuine one.]

I'll keep that in mind, assuming I do decide to sleep...it seems as though it would be difficult here.
