[Those who wake up in the town on the third day will soon notice that something's definitely off. The cracks in the sky are appearing more frequently and lasting for minutes at a time, and there's a strange white fog drifting over the clouds.

For those who've just arrived, welcome to our new little town! We're sure you're glad to see your missing friends again; nothing to worry about here, they've just been too busy enjoying the upgraded carnival to go back home. Any bleeding limbs or serious wounds you may spot are obviously just a sign of how much fun they've been having.]

OOC: If your character damages or affects the carnival or town in a noticeable and normally permanent way, please comment here.

[He nods to Jenny as he takes a couple of steps behind her. He's now between Jenny and Olivier.

Well Henry certainly hears the voices.]

I hear voices...

[Chell starts to nod and hold out the water bottle to Kreutzer, but her head droops and her hand goes limp, dropping the water bottle onto the floor.

She stumbles slightly, shaking her head, then hits the ground herself.]

[Jenny cautiously enters the room, charge still at the ready.]

Some people have all the luck. I haven't seen many freaky things before coming here, unless... [he hesitates, then shrugs. it's by his exhaustion alone that he's able to speak about something that would normally be a touchy topic like it's not a big deal at all.] ...Unless you'd count loud, annoying forest guardians to be one of them. I wouldn't.

I know what you mean. A prison's a prison; the white picket fences just make it look nicer than it really is. It's hard to have fun for very long when you're reminded of that every, oh, other day or so.

[she turns to see the door's shut. And with her having left her sword in the house.]

[She finally decides to accept.]

T-thank you, Kuroneko. I will repay you, somehow.

[She unscrews the cap and takes a couple drinks. However, she stops before she can drain the whole bottle, remembering that she has to save her water.]

[The effect will stop once he's out of the house, but any part of him still in the house will feel the crawling.]

"Well, depends whose telling the story. My enemies tell stories up me seducing faithful women away from their husbands and stealing children in the night. Those who see me as hero tell stories about how I can scare off a dragon by staring it down and fight off an army by shooting lighting out of my arse.
...And then there's the people who keep spreading that story about me and the convent full of Veritian nuns. I'm not sure who is behind that one, but its just wrong."

[That actually gets her to smile. It's not very warm or very charming, but it's a smile just the same.]

I suppose. Through the mirror maze we go, then.

[She turns about and takes a step, but looks behind her to see that he's following. And that he's not trying to shoot her or something foolish like that.]

(Which would've been a very disappointing turn of events, but seeing Chell drop to the floor was a higher priority. She'll rush over to the woman's side.)

Chell! What happened...?

(She still has a pulse, her breathing's normal...was she knocked unconscious? What could've...?

...the water bottle. Kreutzer covers her face with one hand and backs away, looking around the room for anything else that might suddenly change.)

[He does follow and only chuckles lightly when he sees her head turn back. Bold, but cautious. Not bad. He follows her lead though, turning his own head to make sure nothing is behind them.]

I suppose you didn't only just come today.

[The stairs collapse under her into a void. She'll find herself falling with nothing to grab on to.]

No problem. Don't worry about it.

[ She regrets it. Giving up water means less for her. No no... less for others, she reminds herself. She'll have to give away both other bottles now. ]

Is there a safe place to stay? I should know where that is, if you could show me?

[he can still feel the crawling on his arm that's keeping him balanced. seeing he has no choice, Dainn closes his eyes and lets go of the frame, and falls. he didn't know if the drop was actually real but it probably didn't matter at this point.]

[Cade isn't happy about being the least exposed, though at least he can defend the group if something sneaks up behind them. He whispers to the group.]

"Yeah, me too. Let's go."

[Cade has his sword in his right hand and his loaded revolver in his left, just in case of ambush.]

[Crona had all but freaked out upon entering the new tiny Mayfield. Thankfully, Crona's paranoia gives the kid a pretty strong survival instinct. Upon spotting something as familiar as a church, Crona took a direct route to it...not really wanting to spend more time in the creepy carnival or those empty looking houses.

Who knows what could be crawling in there? Crona isn't necessarily disturbed all that much by the creepy air of this new town, but the fact that is it unknown and eerily quiet, like something's just waiting in the shadows, has the kid on edge.

Crona had shuffled straight for the church, and found a nice shadowy place to sit down in the shadows, back against a corner. The poor kid has curled up into a little ball, hugging those knees and keeping that face buried in them.

How does Crona always get caught up in this crap? That's the LAST time the kid's going to explore any new things that pop up in town.]

[Almost as if to prove his assertion, she proceeds to lose last night's dinner on his shoes.]

I think...you are r-right. F-forgive me.

[Perhaps she should try some sort of cleaning spell...]

[Chell is completely knocked out and won't be able to wake up again.]

[don't judge her, she's too happy to have actual food in her mouth to think about it.]

...Okay, sure, whatever.

You can stay here if you want, but there's not exactly a huge selection of places to go. There's the carnival, four houses, and the church. I don't think it'd be too difficult for him to find you.

Most certainly. Now they are only trying to cover what is wrong in this place. But, it doesn't look like they can keep up their own illusions. I can't imagine it getting any better.

[After finishing the milk, Olivier will collapse, with the milk eating away at her from the inside.]
