[Those who wake up in the town on the third day will soon notice that something's definitely off. The cracks in the sky are appearing more frequently and lasting for minutes at a time, and there's a strange white fog drifting over the clouds.

For those who've just arrived, welcome to our new little town! We're sure you're glad to see your missing friends again; nothing to worry about here, they've just been too busy enjoying the upgraded carnival to go back home. Any bleeding limbs or serious wounds you may spot are obviously just a sign of how much fun they've been having.]

[ Satou is getting a bit tired from running about in search of her friends. She puts her hands behind her back as she walks over, peering down at the delicious and tempting food. All she brought with her were a few cookies and some water... this looks so much more filling... ]

Hm... I wonder if I have even money to buy something? [ She opens her "survival purse" and begins fishing around for money. ]

Not long. [Though he's been here long enough to notice the changes. However, he hasn't seen the town yet--or what's left of it.

As Luke expounds on the situation, Slugger listens in grim silence. Rats that bite, no food: already it sounded uninhabitable for people.]

Edward's sick? Where is he?

[Eggman and his Egg Pawns sidled up to the inquisitive Haruhi. The doc adjusted his specs as he looks around.]

It seems, though, that I've missed out on the fun!

Latvia! [Lithuania waves at the younger nation as he and Poland pass the food cart.] What are you doing? You know that food isn't real.

House 1 - Back Yard

[ Hello, fellow travelers. Should you wander into the back yard of House #1, you will find one Warren West. The wizard is unconscious, propped up against the fence, head lolling to one side.

He looks pale, and sickly, and generally Not Doing Well. He has a gun grasped lightly in one hand, and a bag slung over one shoulder. In the bag are a couple of bottles of water, and a few small food items.

Oh yes, and did I mention that Warren's legs are missing from the knee down? They just... stop. Even the point where his pant legs end is a clean cut, drenched in blood though they are. He's torn his shirt for a makeshift tourniquet, but he's likely not got long left. ]

[Hungary told him about this last night.] Are you seriously eating off the ground? Things aren't that bad yet.

[The church is where the action is... or the refugees, at any rate... and Natalie is standing outside of it, looking vaguely uncomfortable. The regular Mayfield church is a complete no-entry zone for her. This one...

Well. She has no confidence in testing if it is, right now. So she's outside, pacing with a length of wood in one hand, occasionally peeking in the windows or peering about for rats.

It's better than holing up in a basement somewhere.]

[Latvia quickly snatches his hand back, about to pick up one of the packets from the ground]

I-I know it's not real, but it's not like it's dangerous either. Can't I just pretend...?

You don't know it's not dangerous. [Lithuania always worries.] I mean, someone knocked the stand over...

In one of the houses we took over for shelter. The only thing to eat here are the rats, but I haven't been successful in catching one.

I'm really worried. He doesn't seem to be getting better.

When was the last time you guys ate anyway? [It's probably not a good idea to give Latvia anything out of his bag here if everyone in this place was as hungry as he was. Getting mugged over some apples and paluskzi would suck.]

[She scowls, trying to remember.]

It was a pretty high-pitched scream, yes. Once-ler thinks it's about Lucy; he said she's the one who kidnapped us.

I just had the riceball Koharu gave me last night...

But before that I'd only had the pierogi she gave me.

Why not? I mean we should be careful with it just incase we do find anything, but it'd totally make things go faster than ripping houses down board by board.

A controlled burn shouldn't be that hard.

[Latvia's had more than Lithuania, actually, but Lithuania's been trying deliberately to go without if he can--Koharu certainly needs her food more than he does.]

[The past two days have been a blast, but this bizarre alternate Mayfield is getting pretty old. Time to look for some answers - or at least something to do, to keep the hunger and thirst off her mind.

The fact that only one of these four houses has a number tells Hawke that there must be something good inside, so she heads for #501 first. The front door being locked doesn't surprise or deter her; instead, she circles the house curiously, searching for an alternate way inside.

Ah, and there's a broken window. Perfect. But she's not completely stupid, so she'll try to get a look inside before climbing in.]

I think I could get along well with a doctor, don't you?

[She manages a giggle, gesturing to her hair. This is... Nice. This is relaxing her and making her feel somewhat normal.]

It's kind of too bad you didn't end up being my son in Mayfield, though, I have to admit. You're a good kid, Henry.

We don't really have a lot of water to work with, unless we're going to try setting the tunnel of love on fire.

[What Lithuania doesn't know is the "water" in the tunnel of love is actually formaldehyde.]
