welcome to mayfield: day 2

[Day two of whatever this place is dawns bright and cheerful. Not much seems to have changed; the carnival is still standing, the town still empty of drones, the sky still bright blue and --
-- hang on, what was that? Did some sort of crack just appear in that patch of sky?
...oh, it's gone now. Must have just been your imagination. Anyway, there's no time to waste staring aimlessly at the sky, not when there's more friends showing up! Lucky there's more than enough food to go around, eh?]
OOC: If your character damages or affects the carnival or town in a noticeable and normally permanent way, please comment here.
OPEN! If your character was on the list of characters arriving on Day 1 or Day 2, they may comment here. All questions belong here.

Jackpot!
[he grins and immediately goes to open it. that enthusiasm fades soon enough when he finds that it's not budging. at all.]
...Oh wait, I forgot - it's never THIS easy, is it?

Maybe... You could wedge the axe in and force it open?

[there's a thick, sharp THUD when he swings the axe into the window. much to his surprise, it doesn't shatter; the blade buries itself into the glass and it takes quite a bit of effort on his part for him to pull it out. then he tries again, and again. and one more time.]

[But then... She can only stare in confusion. Why can't anything make sense?]
What on Earth...?

It's just - [CHOP] - being - [THWACK] - shy!
[he keeps hammering away and even stops for a minute to catch his breath. and here he told himself right off the bat that he was going to try not to exert himself, because it'd make him thirsty and then he'd be in trouble. don't think about water. don't think about milkshakes. don't think about grape juice.
he keeps at it. eventually, the glass FINALLY starts giving way.]

At the same time, though, she utterly fascinated. What could this be made of? How is this working? If the town is all fake... Is this version of it fake, too? And if so... Why is it glitching like this, and what does it mean for them?]

See? And uncle always said I had weak arms.
[who's laughing now?]
By popular request!
God knows where she came from but she is just clapping you on the back. And adopting a British accent because why not.]

What are you doing here. [it's so flat there's no way it can be a question. THANKS FOR RUINING HIS AWESOME BREAK-IN, MOM.]

[Haruko Haruhara - asking the hard hitting questions.]
