[Day two of whatever this place is dawns bright and cheerful. Not much seems to have changed; the carnival is still standing, the town still empty of drones, the sky still bright blue and --

-- hang on, what was that? Did some sort of crack just appear in that patch of sky?

...oh, it's gone now. Must have just been your imagination. Anyway, there's no time to waste staring aimlessly at the sky, not when there's more friends showing up! Lucky there's more than enough food to go around, eh?]

[Henry has decided to investigate another house. He's going to start searching the upstairs. Rifling through anything that he can find.]

[It seems there's something in a dresser drawer!]

[Henry raises a brow as he looks at this piece of paper.]

Reailty programming? Suspended animation? This sounds like something from a comic book...

[He's going to stuff it in his journal and keep looking about now.]

[Harley notices him shove the paper away as she looks around.]

Hey, what'd you find?

Oh, Harley!

[Henry goes back and pulls out the sheet of paper handing it to the woman.]

It sounds pretty weird...

[Looks at it for a while before handing it back to him.]

That is weird....

[Thinking it over. It brings up some questions.]

Where'd you find it?

It was in a dresser.

[He stares at the back of the paper for a minute.]

What do you think it means?

Maybe this is what Mayfield started as. Some sort of fake world for people from this world an' we just got kidnapped into it for some reason.

But what kind of fake world is it? Are stuck here by magic...? Or something else?

Technology or somethin' maybe. I have a friend from home that could do some pretty convincing stuff with mind control tech.

Than what is Mayfield? I wish there was a book for this place...

Yeah...my town has one because of the curse.

[Henry's going start looking under any furniture that's around.]

[Harley will help him with that. Going to look under a couch.]

She hates Snow White. So, she did enacted the curse.

[And now she's starting to wonder if the kids...all there.]

Like the one from the fairy tale?

Yeah, but she's real, in my world at least. All fairy tales happened where I'm from.

[He's getting that feeling that Harley thinks he's crazy. Tread carefully.]

Oh, what about Alice in Wonderland? Is that real, 'cause I've got a friend that's just nuts about it.

[Harley, that's not a fairytale...]

[But it is in Henry's world apparently.]

[Show writers you are fail. Harley however just grins.]

Wow, he'd love that. He goes by the Mad Hatter at home. He knows everything about those books.

[No they are not. They are wonderful. Once was pretty much made by Disney. Sob.]

Really? I don't think he'd know about my book's story on Alice in Wonderland.

[My obsession with Alice in Wonderland disagrees.]

[She pauses thinking back to one of Jervis's many MANY rants.]

Lewis Carroll? Yeah! That's it! That Lewis Carroll guys wrote the books!
