welcome to mayfield: day 3

[Those who wake up in the town on the third day will soon notice that something's definitely off. The cracks in the sky are appearing more frequently and lasting for minutes at a time, and there's a strange white fog drifting over the clouds.

For those who've just arrived, welcome to our new little town! We're sure you're glad to see your missing friends again; nothing to worry about here, they've just been too busy enjoying the upgraded carnival to go back home. Any bleeding limbs or serious wounds you may spot are obviously just a sign of how much fun they've been having.]

[A window upstairs will break...but the drop seems much higher than it should be. Rather than one story, something like 5, maybe ten stories.

[oh goodie. it was times like this Dainn missed his shadow body. could easily just phases through things.

it seemed like he had no choice but to jump but Dainn really didn't want to chance breaking his neck on the ground. gripping the frame, the shadow thinks. chance it or try and find another way out? hopefully nothing else will show up while he's mulling the idea over...]

[Something does show up -- a tingling feeling at his feet. They start to dissolve and disappear.]

[surprised, Dainn tries kicking out, hoping to get his feet to re-appear and the tingling feeling to stop.]

[Too late, his feet are gone. The crawling sensation is starting to move up his legs.]

[shadow_possession]

[not good. he'd rather not disappear like this. it reminded him too much of his fate thanks to the Piledriver and Dainn would rather not die that way again.

so he'll try and pull himself up to the window and try his best to get out without falling. maybe if he was somewhat out of the house, the effect would stop. but if it didn't...]

[The effect will stop once he's out of the house, but any part of him still in the house will feel the crawling.]

[he can still feel the crawling on his arm that's keeping him balanced. seeing he has no choice, Dainn closes his eyes and lets go of the frame, and falls. he didn't know if the drop was actually real but it probably didn't matter at this point.]

[The drop is about five stories. He can survive the fall, but it will definitely hurt.]

[hurt it does. Dainn crashes against the ground with a sickening thud. he's alive, but in too much pain to move.

oh god, he misses his normal body. this wouldn't have happened if he was still a shadow...]
