[Those who wake up in the town on the third day will soon notice that something's definitely off. The cracks in the sky are appearing more frequently and lasting for minutes at a time, and there's a strange white fog drifting over the clouds.

For those who've just arrived, welcome to our new little town! We're sure you're glad to see your missing friends again; nothing to worry about here, they've just been too busy enjoying the upgraded carnival to go back home. Any bleeding limbs or serious wounds you may spot are obviously just a sign of how much fun they've been having.]

[ You said it was free! Nothing is wrong with free! ]

Well it may be the only food around, but don't you think it's strange how no one is around selling it?

W-well, you just said that it was free, right? Maybe that's why?

[ She looks down at it again. ] It looks better than the other food at the other carnival, anyway.

[cueball]

It may look better, but looks are deceiving. Would you trust food from a stranger?

... Yes! Trusting people is important!

[ She's lying. Satou would be quite skeptical... but she wants to seem like a good girl. ]

B-but I guess... I see your point. It's a bit too good to be true...

[cueball]

[A small smile found it's way onto his expression. Young girls were really so impressionable and endearing.]

Indeed. If you wish to tempt fate, then go ahead and take a bite. But if not, then steer clear. Even if that means going hungry.

Going hungry...

[ She frowns. Thinking hard. ]

I have friends here who are going to get hungry. Is there anything else to eat around here?

[He shrugs.]

I've seen people living off the swarming rats that come out at night, trying to look for food themselves. The food being us that is.

[priceofmagic]

... Rats come out at night? [ She frowns a bit, trying to mask her thoughts and feelings. She hasn't heard of that yet. ]

This is my first day here. Could you elaborate, please?

[cueball]

Ah, more people have come out of that house today? I thought yesterday was the last time. [What a mess. How many other people were going to be put here?] I've been here for the past two days, child. This place has no food, a poisoned water source and there are rats everywhere at night. Large ones at that and I wouldn't want to be bit by them. If you can't fight them off you should take shelter in the Church at the ends of this Mayfield.

So that's what this place is like... I see.

[ She frowns fully now, not bothering to hide it. ] I will be fine, so don't worry about that. So you've been here for... three days? Two nights?

[cueball]

That's correct. This place has been getting more disturbed as well. [He says, lifting his head up to look at the sky.] I think whatever illusion they are attempting to show us is beginning to break down.

[priceofmagic]

An illusion... hm? Is that what you think this place is?

[ She looks around, taking in the perfect details, then looks back at him. ] When it breaks, it'll probably get worse, right?

[cueball]

Most certainly. Now they are only trying to cover what is wrong in this place. But, it doesn't look like they can keep up their own illusions. I can't imagine it getting any better.
