[Those who wake up in the town on the third day will soon notice that something's definitely off. The cracks in the sky are appearing more frequently and lasting for minutes at a time, and there's a strange white fog drifting over the clouds.

For those who've just arrived, welcome to our new little town! We're sure you're glad to see your missing friends again; nothing to worry about here, they've just been too busy enjoying the upgraded carnival to go back home. Any bleeding limbs or serious wounds you may spot are obviously just a sign of how much fun they've been having.]

[ Oh, that isn't suspicious or anything. Rory will wind up retreating to the church eventually, like quite a few people have. Plenty to be said for the sake of having Amy and the Doctor where he can keep an eye on them both without worrying about the other.

It's not like he's gonna lie about that much. :|

No blankets, no clean clothes, no proper food or water, no medical supplies and three days of it going strong. People are worried, tired, hungry and irritable, provided they're not dead; he is really disliking where things seem to be heading. All he can really do is what he can, as a nurse or... anything else.

Professional opinion: stare warily at the milk and try to warn people who might drink it about the fact that nothing is trustworthy. Attempt to provide medical attention as best as he can if it proves necessary. Rinse, repeat. ]

[Slumping against him. Or at least trying not to rest his head on Rory's shoulder but failing to keep his head upright thus leading to the slumping.

His head is starting to pound from smashing it received from the window yesterday and it feels slightly fuzzy and stuffed. And his stomach is twisting itself in knots due to hunger. The Doctor has seemingly boundless energy but it doesn't last forever and he keeps it up by eating and sleeping like anyone else. Just not as much as normal people. But the investigations are starting to wear on him.

At least Rory and Amy are alright. Still alive. That's what matters.]

[ They're tough folks, so Amy's not going to be the one to bring up any complaints. Instead, she'll wearily rest her own head against the shoulder of whoever is willing to have it. ]

Are we still alive and in one piece?

[ She has enough energy to put on the facade that she's alright. A beacon of optimism is what her two boys need, so she'll continue to burn as bright as she can. ]

Clothes don't count. [ Just adding that in. ]

[ Everyone is free to lean all they like right now. Nothing is exploding or bleeding, so you know.

It's just that sort of day. ]

Well we're not not. I think that counts. [ Seeing your optimism and raising a little bit of dry humor. There's always dry humor to spare, right? ]

[A groan and a sniff. Stupid window. Stupid head. Stupid lack of shoes. Not that he'd ever say that because it means admitting Rory and Amy were right.]

Speak for yourself. I miss my shoes.

You could always return for them.

[ If only she had a tissue to spare for him. Since she doesn't, she'll just nuzzle her head into her husband's shoulder. ]

Is this about the time we come up with a plan?

[ Oh, tissues. If only, out here. He'll let his head rest on Amy's while she's there. Comfortable is comfortable when there's a distinct lack of bed material. ]

I could do with a plan, yeah. Just kind of hard to figure out where one starts. [ ... :I ] Don't go shoe-hunting without backup, though.

[The Doctor doesn't even bother to sit up when he replies. He keeps his eyes closed and his head on Rory's shoulder.]

Here's my plan.

You two, lie low and stay in the church. As soon as the pounding in my head lets up, I'm going to go out and explore 501 again.

That plan sucks. [ Reaching around to gently nudge the Doctor's shoulder. ] Rory, tell him that's a horrible plan and that he should lie low with us.

[ A beat. ]

Or at least let us come explore with him.

[ Rory can support this argument while he's leaning his head back against the wall, right? He thinks this is a sound course of action. ]

That's probably the worst plan you've ever come up with. [ Including last Halloween when you bit him on the hand. And he really means that. ] None of us should be going anywhere alone right now.

I can go plenty of places!

And I've had-[He pouts as he nearly admits to worse plans. Instead he just snuggles closer to Rory, shivering.]

I'm fine. I need to keep looking for information.

[ Good Rory, best Rory.
It takes a lot to tell the Doctor his plans suck. ]

Then there's no reason we can't tag along. [ Snuggling up as well. ] We can bond over what's inside 501.

[ King of the babysitters, it's just life. ]

Probably by running away from it. They've probably got it locked up for a reason, right?

[And now trying to wiggle out of Rory's grip, looking indignant.]

A reason I'm going to figure out. It's our only as to what the hell is going on.

Is it locked up or are we just locked out? Either way, it sounds like a fun time.

[ Maybe she shouldn't encourage the behavior. ]

[ You guys are the children. It's you. He won't make the Doctor stay in place, though, by all means. ]

It's not like- I'm not saying it's not one of the only leads we've got. Just. That trying to get into it alone is a bad idea. [ Plus bro, your neck. ]

Well, I'm not letting either of you come.

[Glaring at you both and setting his jaw. ISNT HE SO INTIMIDATING]

Show of hands. [ Holding up her own instantly. ] Who's going to visit 501 after this?

[ Stubborn Amy is infinitely so. Besides, she doesn't seem thrilled with the idea of being left behind by either or both of them. ]
