welcome to mayfield: day 3

[Those who wake up in the town on the third day will soon notice that something's definitely off. The cracks in the sky are appearing more frequently and lasting for minutes at a time, and there's a strange white fog drifting over the clouds.
For those who've just arrived, welcome to our new little town! We're sure you're glad to see your missing friends again; nothing to worry about here, they've just been too busy enjoying the upgraded carnival to go back home. Any bleeding limbs or serious wounds you may spot are obviously just a sign of how much fun they've been having.]
OOC: If your character damages or affects the carnival or town in a noticeable and normally permanent way, please comment here.

"What's wrong?"

Nothing pineapple worthy. I took some necklaces from the midway games yesterday, hoping to use them as bargaining chips if need be, but they've disappeared and taken my flint and tinderbox with them.

"Oh, well, at least they didn't take anything worse. You can use mine if you need to."
no subject
If need be. There are stoves that function in the houses, too. You didn't happen to grab any of the prizes did you?

[Besides... everything. Things have been getting very strange here]

[He doesn't sound terribly impressed]

[But for what? Palpatine is easier to read.]

They are. I wonder what it's like out there, then.
[She gestures to the doors of the church.]

It's probably getting worse. It might be a good idea to check.

I need to wake my comrade first though. We've been taking turns keeping watching the night and it wouldn't be right just to leave him just because the morning has come.

Were you able to bandage it up?

[Someone had helped out, but it did get done. When she wanders over, she'll find him where he's been since last night, though with how quiet he's been it'd be easy to miss he's there at all.
Whatever it is he's gotten bandaged, it isn't readily visible. His bloodstained coat is thrown over his lap and most of his lower right arm, though, obscuring that from view.]
If anyone is warning people about this stuff, you might want to add not to touch those prizes for any reason.

I roasted a rat early last night, but I have some other things with me if you'd rather not.

I wouldn't say no to anything right now, especially water, but I thought that was all undrinkable here.

[She pulls out peanut butter sandwich and a canteen from her pack, then holds it out to him.]

[Unless the dirt does something. He can't recall if they went over the grittier details of survival back at the academy or not. Or if he even paid it any attention!]
Ah... [Welp, two things being held out to him. He stares at them for a moment, forcing his hidden arm to stay still and under the coat where it is so he won't do something stupid and reach for one of those without a hand.
The moment passes. He'll take one, then the other, one at a time, rather than reaching out for both at once.] Thank you, Major General.

And don't worry about it. You happened to convince me not to destroy my uniforms. That's enough to deserve repayment.
