welcome to mayfield: day 3

[Those who wake up in the town on the third day will soon notice that something's definitely off. The cracks in the sky are appearing more frequently and lasting for minutes at a time, and there's a strange white fog drifting over the clouds.
For those who've just arrived, welcome to our new little town! We're sure you're glad to see your missing friends again; nothing to worry about here, they've just been too busy enjoying the upgraded carnival to go back home. Any bleeding limbs or serious wounds you may spot are obviously just a sign of how much fun they've been having.]
OOC: If your character damages or affects the carnival or town in a noticeable and normally permanent way, please comment here.
Re: main area
[He's just going to move a little closer there, and he actually looks somewhat concerned. As far as his perception of time is concerned, he just saw her earlier that morning. You may not be his favorite person, Kreutzer, but if it comes down to you or the town winning out here, the town loses every time.]
Perhaps this is not the best place for you.
Re: main area
(She didn't have contact with them and that was what really bothered her. She hasn't been sleeping well, either; not when she has so much to worry about.)
This entire area isn't best for anyone. This entire...whatever the town is doing isn't best for anyone. Whatever they're doing, I'm tired of it...
(But she remembers something.)
It should be obvious, but don't eat the food here; it will harm you. All of the water is contaminated, but Tachikoma and I have been working on making at least some of it drinkable...
Re: main area
[Perhaps they could have thought that whole funhouse exploration thing and out better, but, alas...]
You're not the only one. This is...senseless.
[He nods.]
Giving us food would have made things too easy. Less entertaining for them.
Re: main area
(Because those two can get into a lot of mischief...how she missed it so.)
There's little here. Wherever we are, it's as if this realm is...unfinished. Or perhaps even ripped apart from Mayfield. Whatever it is, it's unstable; have you seen the sky? Even that's try to tear itself apart from this madness.
Re: main area
[Those dolls might be somewhat annoying, but hey, if they can prevent the sort of terrible unattended child disasters he's imagining, good for them.]
It's...unsettling. I've never fought anything with powers quite like this before...
[Because as destructive as he is, he's not powerful enough to be messing with the very fabric of reality.]
Re: main area
I think very few have, if any at all. It's horrifying, really; it's a point where you begin to wonder if they should be allowed to have that much power in the first place...
(She seems to have more to say, but that's interrupted by a fit of coughing.)
Re: main area
[He frowns at that coughing fit.]
You appear to need a doctor. Is anyone here set up to function as one?
Re: main area
(Not like Kreutzer can deny it. She shrugs.)
I'm not sure. Everyone's busy just trying to press on...I've mostly kept to myself; if I'm sick, then I don't want anyone else to get sick.
Re: main area
[He's not looking satisfied with that answer about the sickness.]
Trying for that final death you seem to want so badly? I didn't think you'd let the town win like this. There's bound to be a healer of some sort that got pulled in.
Re: main area
(Kreutzer shakes her head.)
I told someone I would return...alive. I'm just...figuring out how exactly to do so.
Re: main area
[And oh, hey, Kreutzer, he's just going to pick you up and carry you out of there now. Here's hoping he knows the way out.]
Re: main area
(Nope, train of thought once again interrupted. She doesn't put much much resistance; that would take up more energy than she was willing to expend. She's still hugging her dolls...but she's still playing her part by giving directions.)
The exit's at the next left.
Re: main area
Just so we're clear, I'm not helping you. I'm using you. You're the only one in that house who knows how to cook anything that isn't eggs or takoyaki.
[He is, however, smiling ever-so-slightly as he says that. He may have just made a joke of some sort. Surely that is another sign this is the end times.]
Re: main area
That's fine with me.
(She coughs a bit, but at least she smiles somewhat. No witty comebacks this time; just honesty.)
Re: main area
[By this time, he has successfully navigated to the end of the maze. They're out of the funhouse now, and he's made no move to put her down.]
I'm sure someone has set up some sort of emergency medical outpost somewhere. I'll take you there.
Re: main area
They'd likely be stationed at the church. It seems to be the only safe place here.
Re: main area
[He looks around for a moment to get his bearings before starting to head in that direction.]
Re: main area
(Not that Kreutzer was really a girl of faith, but she at least knew about it and what it could do to people.)
Re: main area
[He's still walking towards the church.]
For an Undead, all there is is the call to fight, and the answer to that call.

Re: main area
There are times when it doesn't always work.
[Like if you start masquerading as a human and find you actually like it...]
Some humans don't seem to be quite like that...your species can be a surprising one.
Re: main area
(Quite a bit of truth right there.)
