I can be sure that there isn't a true death because one, we're needed alive and in the town for a reason, and two, no person who was originally from outside of the town has suffered one before. There are other reasons I've amassed over the years as well, but when things come down to it, the simple fact of the matter is that droning outweighs death in terms of severity.
